ACE Insurance South Africa appoints Gary Jack as interim CEO

Big news is that Gary Jack has ascended to the position of interim CEO. Gary steps up to the position after Mike Durek left to pursue outside interests after a distinguished period with the company in which he played a driving role in growing ACE Insurance South Africa business. We wish Mike well in his future endeavours and thank him for his substantial contributions to the company in his time with us.

Gary joined ACE in 2009 and has very successfully run the Accident and Health Division for some two years. Combined with his considerable experience in the insurance industry and an intimate knowledge of the workings of our company, Gary is perfectly positioned to drive the existing ACE strategy. Our focus will remain on identifying and servicing niche opportunities in the market and developing tailored insurance solutions to cover risk.

Central to this strategy is our continued focus on employing the best staff, looking after customers and brokers and a policy of “no-nonsense” payment of claims.

Gary started his career with Alexander Forbes Financial Services and moved to what was then AIG. Married with two children, he holds a B Com degree from RAU as well as Post Graduate qualifications in Financial Planning from the University of the Free State.
